Challenging Skeptics, is the Bible True? Mt. Sinai, “Yam Suf” (Red Or Reed Sea) – Where Are They?
Sep 3When asked about “Yam Suf”, the average Jew, even learned Rabbis, scholars and the “Chumash” (English translation of the Old Testament) found in orthodox synagogues, probably define the Hebrew words as “Reed Sea”. Considering sixteen centuries of belief by dominant Christianity that Mount Sinai is in lower Sinai Peninsula, that is not surprising. Per the Bible, the fleeing Israelites crossed Yam Suf before reaching Mt. Sinai, therefore the only candidate bodies of water would be the shallow Bitter Lakes or the tip of the Gulf of Suez – “Sea of Reeds” thus becomes a common-sense definition for “Yam Suf”. However, sweeping aside these sixteen hundred years of conventional belief have been remarkable discoveries – in but the last decade – by explorers then world-known research scientists, establishing – by solid fact and logic – that the Bible Exodus story, miracles and all, cannot be refuted.
